Manchester United 0 v Real Sociedad 1. Where we you when you United conceded a penalty to Real Sociedad? Well, I was in the ground but having completely missed the incident I was a bit confused as to why a penalty had been given. I asked the guys in front of me and they too were a bit confused, but we came to the conclusion it must have been a blatant handball which stopped a shot on target.

Two hours late I finally got the answer when I saw a replay of the incident. Wow! Anyway, not to moan decisions you have to accept it unfortunately. It’s something I always tell the kids I coach. Which doesn’t always help but as players you have to stay focused. Unfortunately that was something many of our players did last night.

Too many missed placed passes, too many sideward passes rather than forward ones and too many indecisive decisions from so many players. It was a bad night at the office. Time to panic though? No. Ten Hag will have learned even more about certain players and at the end of the end, win four of the next five Europa League and we can still qualify. No need to panic at all.

This is a project and a minimum 2-year project at that. There will be more setbacks and plenty more success but we must continue to support and back the new era. Roll on our next game, which now looks to be another Europa League game.
