Villarreal win 11-10 on penalties. Villarreal 1 v Manchester United 1. AET. Not good enough from United I’m afraid. Simple as that. Absolutely gutted!

There are a lot of questions that need to be answered about last night’s poor performance. Most of them obvious ones that I think 99% of us as fans would ask. However, I’m not going to get into all of that and start moaning on.

Those questions, will however need answering by the club, by Ole and his management team and by the players themselves if we are to go forward as a team. Yes, we under performed massively in a major final, but the reasons why have been there all season and certain changes are still needed.

I’ll always back the manager and the players, but if the problem areas are not addressed again (like previous ones have I might add) and improvements are not made this summer to strengthen our squad then I’d be worried. Personally, I think they will be but it needs to be done sooner rather than later.

Well done to all the fans that travelled out to Poland for the game too by the way, great effort.
