Manchester United 9 v Southampton 0. United were ruthless and merciless in all that they did last night after Southampton midfielder Alex Jankewitz was sent off in just the second-minute of the game.
Jankewitz’s rash high tackle on McTominay was awful, but somewhat very odd at the same time. In that it didn’t have the intent of a vindictive and hateful challenge, more clumsy and reckless as if he didn’t know what he was doing. Or did he, only he will know why?
Once the game restarted United were just at Southampton with wave after wave of attack and they didn’t let up all night. If the correct amount of injury-time in both halves had actually been played it could have been more than ten goals. With nearly every player involved trying to get themselves on the score sheet.
