A Young Greenwood Matas – podcast #77

Manchester United 4 v AZ Alkmaar 0. No talk of the general election on here in a night when United broke AZ in the space of fifteen second-half minutes.

The scoring started with the old guard in Young, before 18-year-old Mason Greenwood scored two quick fire left-footed strikes either side of a Juan Mata penalty.

Anyway, Phil’s got his thoughts below in our latest podcast from straight after the game:

  1. The result completely glosses over the inadequacies of United. The splattering of experience in the team selections highlights that United have no quality or depth to their overall squad, this is a significant concern. Effectively this was a reserve team for players who cant step up to make the grade in the premier league. AZ were the superior team in the first half and teams with a little more quality would have punished United before the second half revival came about. I dont want to knock your positivity but in my view the newly found faith and optimism is misplaced.
