Manchester United 1 v Middlesbrough 1. AET 1-1. Middlesbrough win 8-7 on penalties. Yet another very disappointing evening at Old Trafford last night, as we lose on penalties to Championship side Middlesbrough in the FA Cup. Woeful.
The FA Cup means everything to me, I love it and I’m absolutely gutted to be out of the competition too early once again. Quarter-Finals last year, 4th round this year. Simply not good enough.
Yes we created chance after chance, but we didn’t score and we didn’t see out the game in 90 minutes. People will talk about the penalty incident decision, VAR, missing penalties, no half-time pies, but at the end of the day we couldn’t beat a team sitting seventh in The Championship.
Credit to Middlesbrough, they stuck at it and kept themselves in the game and if you do that then you always have a chance. And when they got their chance they took it.
