Manchester United 3 v Atalanta 2. Yet another emotional time watching United last night and that’s what it’s all about! What a second-half and what a comeback. The support around the stadium, in the Stretford End and of course with The Red Army area what superb.
We all know that first half was’nt good enough. Not for the first time this season. Yes, we created a couple of half chances, but defensively we were absolutely shocking. Both as a back four unit and as a team. Gaps everywhere, lack of pressure, dreadful marking and what seemed no desire to put tackles in and win the ball back.
As annoying as that is and as much as the players, Ole and his staff still need to sort it out, it is still all about supporting the team. Always has been, always will be. Through thick and thin.
Yes, there were a few grumblings at half-time. Rightfully so, 2-0 down at home and deservedly so. Especially after the dreadful performance against Leicester City at the weekend.
However, as much as we expected the players to pick it up and perform better in the second-half. You continue to support the team and in that second-half we did. It was brilliant. What a win!
Issues still need addressing. We know that. Performances need to improve. We know that too. Dramatically and quickly as well. Nothing beats supporting your team and celebrating goals like that though. That’s why we go!
