End of season review - podcast #183

With the current season coming to a close, Phil plus his guest have done a quick take on all that has happened during United’s league and cup campaign this season. As well as looking forward to where United can go from the position they are currently in.

As for me. It was of course an ultimately very disappointing end to yet another weird season affected by all that has gone on in the world over the last 18 months. To not have gone to a single United game since 8th March 2020 is bad enough, but not seeing so many good people I know through going to Old Trafford and away games is something hard to take.

The closest I got to seeing anyone on a day that felt like a match day was on the forecourt of Old Trafford for the Glazer Out protest on the day of the Liverpool game. I bumped into a few old faces, whilst my son and I supported the protest from a distance for a good hour or so before heading home.

On the pitch, it’s been great at times watching United go forward and attack, all be it via a TV, laptop or mobile device. Still, I’ve managed to watch every single game this season. Like always. The downside has been our defensive woes and too many similar errors in games leading to goals being given away.

Tactically mistakes have been made by Ole and his team and they have to address that, because if they don’t then that I’m afraid it could be their downfall. I’m sure they know that, but can they change so much still over the coming summer to get things right ahead of next season?

We are heading in the right direction for me and Ole has done so much good for the team and the club since his arrival, but time is now ticking so lets hope we get off to a good start come August. Back the manager, support the team and hopefully we’ll be back cheering on the lads sooner rather than later.
