A 16 minute hat-trick - podcast #129

Manchester United 5 v RB Leipzig 0. Julian Nagelsmann and all his players will certainly not forget RB Leipzig’s first ever match against Manchester United at Old Trafford. And neither will hat-trick hero Marcus Rashford.

However, with 20 minutes to go it was still a nervy affair with the score at 1-0 to United, who were much the better team in the second-half with the first-half being quite even. Then Ole brought Fernandes and Rashford off the bench and that was that, 4 goals in twenty odd minutes.

Rightfully so Rashford got man-of-the-match, but I thought Fred was outstanding all night breaking up play and distributing the ball. In fact, he was involved in our first 4 goals with either the assist or the pass before the assist. Plus he was involved in the build up to our 5th goal and Rashford’s hat-trick.

Outstanding performance from him and the whole team. It was a pleasure to watch and it’s great to have strength and depth on the bench, knowing you can rest certain players with so many games coming up.
