United to face Wolves in FA Cup Quarter-Finals

Less than half-an-hour after we’d beaten Chelsea at Stamford Bridge last night the draw for the next round of the FA Cup was made and we’re away from home once again. Not that I have any preference on home games over away games, even if this year I cannot get to as many away games as I have in previous years. Millwall away would have been “nice” and at one point it looked a possibility it could happen, still Wolves away and a ground I’ve not been to yet gets my vote. And I’m sure our travelling away fans will agree it’s going to be another good day out.

I think Molineux is currently the only ground in the Premier League I have not been to, after ticking off Brighton back in August. I suppose Spurs’ new ground will be added to my list of grounds to get to whenever its built, but for now it is just Molineux.

Thanks to the cup draw though I now have two chances of getting to Wolverhampton this season as we still have them to play in the league. I was always going to be applying for that game too, but with more fans for cup games to give an even better atmosphere I shall be applying for my ticket tomorrow morning after getting the usual e-mail off the United ticket office. Then I suppose we’ll just wait until the FA and the TV bods announce when the fixture will actually be played, I’m guessing Friday night or Saturday evening. Who knows! They certainly won’t be thinking about the fans that will be going to the game that’s for sure.

As for league game between Wolves and ourselves, that will be postponed to a midweek game later in the season now as it was due to take place on FA Cup semi-final weekend. And with one of us absolutely guaranteed to reach the next round it will be delayed to a later date, just like derby day has already.

Can we win the FA Cup? Of course we can, especially if Ole and the staff continue to prepare the squad ready for each game and then the players step up and perform. Priorities first though, back to league matters and this Sunday them lot from down the East Lancs Road are coming to Old Trafford. I suspect this could be the biggest noise of the season inside Old Trafford and I really hope it is, our support is always great but since Ole took over it has gone up level. Roll on five past two. Lets sing our hearts out for lads once again.

Following our 0-2 win against Chelsea last night, and the subsequent Quarter-Final draw yesterday evening, we can confirm that we have been drawn to play away against Wolverhampton Wanderers, which will be played between Friday 15th and Monday 18th March (Date and KO time TBC).

Applications for qualifying Season Ticket holders, Executive Club Members and disabled supporters will open online at 8am on Wednesday 20th February and will close at 8am on Monday 25th February, with the ballot taking place immediately.

Thank you for your support and let’s hope to continue our successful run in the FA Cup.
