Apparently United’s next game is tomorrow in Perth, Australia. When they take on local side Perth Glory at the newly built multi-purpose Optus Stadium, before taking on some old rivals called dirty Leeds United at the same place a few days later on Wednesday 17th July.
As you know, it’s not been a good time in the ranks of our great Football Club in recent times, some would say we’re no longer a football club. Just Manchester United Club. Due to the fact that there doesn’t seem to be any focus from the powers that be at the club and those on the board to improve things on the pitch and win trophies.
There has been many grumblings about the club from fans, regarding transfers, Ed Woodward, certain players and of course the Glazer family. All of which I fully agree with and would love to change urgently.
However, as much as we could all sit here and moan about this and about that, which we do in our podcasts of course. The new season is coming. We all know what the issues are, who the issues are with, but as much as it hurts us, at some point with have to back Ole and the players. As I’m not going to go into the season in a mood and being negative. We’re here to support our team.
Of course if the team is not performing and certain players are not putting it in again then we absolutely have the right to gripe. We are in a sorry state of affairs at the moment, but you know what, compared to some football teams in this country things are not that bad. Therefore I’m going to try and be as positive as possible, support the team through these “awkward” times and get right behind Ole Solskjaer and the lads.
Especially both new lads in Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James who headed out to Australia last week as part of Solskjaer’s 28-man squad for their pre-season tour.
After Australia, it’s the 2019 International Champions Cup (ICC) when United head to Singapore to take on Inter Milan (Saturday 20th July), then onto Shanghai to face Spurs (Thursday 25th July). Before flying back to the UK to play AC Milan at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff on Saturday 3rd August.
- Perth Glory (13th July) – Optus Stadium, Perth, Australia
- Leeds United (17th July) – Optus Stadium, Perth, Australia
- Inter Milan (20th July) – National Stadium, Kallang, Singapore
- Tottenham (25th July) – Hongkou Football Stadium, Shanghai, China
- Kristiansund (30th July) – Ullevaal Stadion, Oslo, Norway
- AC Milan (3rd August) – Principality Stadium, Cardiff, Wales
Unfortunately I won’t be at any of the games this time around, having done various pre-season games over the years as and when I can.
However, I do have friends who live in Perth and they are due to be at the game tomorrow. They were also at the training session last night at the WACA stadium and the pictures that you can see in this article are theirs.
