LASK 0 v Manchester United 5. United were in Linz, Austria last night for their Europa League Round of 16 first leg tie, but there wasn’t many there to watch it. In fact due to the outbreak of the Coronavirus fans were asked to stay away, however around 500 were allowed in to the Linzer Stadion.
I know a couple of people who still travelled to Austria and to the stadium, which is also known as “Auf der Gugl”, the name of the hill on which it is situated. However, unable to get in they looked on from the gates at one end of the ground.
Nice touch from Man Utd as well, offering to pay £350 compensation plus match ticket for all of the 700 fans that had tickets for the match. Well done.
