In a dramatic week at United with 36-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo returning to us in a shock transfer from Juventus. It was left to young 19-year-old Mason Greenwood to steal the headlines (and save our blushes) at Molineux.
After a sloppy away performance against Southampton the week before, it was another shoddy performance this time away at Wolves. With more misplaced passes and frustratingly losing the ball to often.
However, we held in there and won, thanks to a late Greenwood strike. Varane looked good in defence on debut as well, plus provided the assist for the goal. Other notable displays were Wan-Bissaka, who looks fitter than ever after the summer break and David de Gea who pulled off a couple of fantastic saves to keep us in the game.
Viva Ronaldo! Seven points for nine. Things can only get better. Roll on the Newcastle game at Old Trafford in two weeks. Please enjoy Phil’s podcast:
