Liverpool 0 v Manchester United 0. With United top of the league going into this game, the media hyped it up as much as they possible could, like they always do. However, United going away to them lot at Anfield any season is always big and you always want to beat them and rub their scouse noses in it.
It wasn’t to be yesterday though and that was the frustration in the end. They started the better, which was expected and for 30 minutes they were all over us, despite not really creating any clear cut chances. Once we’d weathered the storm we did start to get more on the ball, however we couldn’t keep hold of it as we constantly gave it away, especially in our own half and that was a frustration.
Defensively I thought we were excellent, the back four hardly put a foot wrong the whole game, but in the middle of the park we seemed to lack composure. With too many rushed passes given away, which meant we couldn’t create more in the final third and open them up more. As when we did keep the ball we did create very good chances, in fact the best two chances in the whole game, so just think how many more we could have created?
A decent point in the end though, more for the players to learn and the progression going forwards under Ole continues. Oh, and still top of the league! U N I T E D !
