Manchester United 2 v Brighton & Hove Albion 1. As the clock ticked over the hour mark last night United were still trailing 1-0 and didn’t look like replying to Danny Welbeck’s first-half goal at all.
Thankfully something clicked and it was a good last 30 minutes once we decided to finally put Brighton under pressure by closing them down, making challenges and then moving the ball forward quickly. Basic football made to look easy and it would have been great celebrating our goals inside the ground.
Why then can we not do that for the first 60 minutes of the game? Where instead we allowed Brighton such as easy ride. Yes they defended well, but it’s easy to defend when you’re always in your formation and the opposition are static and easy to mark.
I loved the comeback last night, but the sheer frustration of watching missed placed passes, no movement, creativity or urgency for hour can drive you mad. Can’t wait to be back in the ground!
