Bruno and Beeky shine – podcast #134

Manchester United 4 vs Istanbul Basaksehir 1. We all know how impressive Bruno Fernandes has been since arriving in January from Sporting Lisbon and he didn’t disappoint again last night. As he met a difficult travelling ball on the edge of the area and smashed it into the roof of their net with such pace. What a goal.

From that to an easy tap-in for a second goal not long after, but no hat-trick though as he handed over the chance to Rashford to slot home from the penalty spot to give us a 3-0 half-time lead.

Impressive throughout was Donny van de Beek too, which was very pleasing to see. His basic availability for the ball and his ease of simple passing was a pleasure to watch. Not that we should be surprised from a player that has come through and developed in the famous Ajax academy.

Alex Telles looked good again too in what was an very impressive opening half hour from United as we played quick attacking football and created plenty of chances. Basaksehir had half chances also but it was a routine win overall for us in the end. Which it should have been.

Two much tougher games to come against PSG (next week) and RB Leipzig still, to see if we can qualify for the next stage of the Champions League. Enjoy the podcast:
