Manchester United 1 v West Ham United 0. Considering it was the late Sunday evening kick-off for United last night, it wasn’t a too bad of a performance overall. Especially when you compare it to some of our other slow and lack lustre shows of late. City away excluded obviously.
Thankfully we started brightly from the first whistle too, which was already an improvement and throughout the first-half we were the better team. Even though chances were few and far between, Fabianski did pull off a terrific low save from Greenwood which was heading for the bottom corner.
The second-half started pretty much in the same way and we took a deserved lead through the unfortunate Craig Dawson. West Ham then made changes and they did start to come into the game a lot more, although that did open up the game for us a lot more as well and we could have got a second.
I thought Shaw, Maguire and Greenwood were our best players and even though we looked comfortably throughout, there was that worry right till the final kick that West Ham could pinch a late goal. Thankfully they didn’t and another good three points for United.
