Lessons not learned again – podcast #157

West Bromwich Albion 1 v Manchester United 1. Another massive frustration watching United this afternoon in a game we dominated possession wise, but ultimately could have easily lost.

Lessons not learned again though with not being switched on from the first whistle as the players looked to ease and stroll into the game. This has happened on numerous occasions this season. No, we might not have conceded every single time in the opening moments, but I know of plenty of times where we could have done whilst looking asleep for the opening five or ten minutes.

The frustration overall for me today though was the lack of width and lack of crosses into the box, even going into the final stages we just kept trying to go through the middle. We scored from a cross in the last minute of the first half and we nearly won the game from a cross in the last minute of the second-half. In-between all that hardly any crosses and chances created at all.

Overall though, yes it’s more massive points dropped, but in the bigger scheme of things, nothing has changed in my opinion in where we still need to improve the team. Hopefully Ole now knows that too and he’ll address it in the summer so we can push on even more next season.

Anyway, as always, enjoy Phil’s honest opinion is his latest podcast :
