Manchester United 1 v Watford 0. United were led about by captain Scott McTominay last night and what a proud moment it was for a lad that’s been at the club since he was five years old.
With the numerous expected changes to the starting line-up, United started very brightly too and it was McTominay himself who gave us the lead with a header after just 5 minutes.
“I absolutely love this football club and it’s been my whole life.” – Scott McTominay
United continued to attack for another twenty minutes or so with some great passing and linked up play. Maybe they started too quickly though because after half-an-hour and just the one goal, United seemed to run out of steam, switch off and then after that it was quite a slow and even game.
I’m sure there will be numerous critics but at the end of the day, it’s job done. We’re through to the next round, we have certain first-team players rested as well squad players who have had some game time. Plus one or two that may have been put themselves in the shop window for a potential January loan or transfer.
