West Ham United 1 v Manchester United 3. What a win in the end yesterday as we saw another Jekyll and Hyde performance from United. From a first-half that was shockingly bad to a second-half that was very good (in the end).
I honestly didn’t think United could perform any worse than the last two visits to The London Stadium, where we’ve lost 3-1 and 2-0 respectively. Those performances (the 3-1 under Mourinho) were both pathetic lacklustre affairs, yet somehow we managed the same again in the first-half yesterday.
As we again made West Ham look very good for doing not very much, with periods of play yesterday where West Ham didn’t even need to tackle us. They just waited for basic errors and all the sloppy passes from us and then they created their chances. We were still doing that for about 10 minutes of the second-half too.
Then things changed and that is why I absolutely love Manchester United. From the absolute frustration of that first-half show to the joy of jumping out of my chair and celebrating with my young lad as United smashed in 3 goals in fifteen minutes and there could have been more.
